About SAVE THE FROGS!
Founded in 2008 by amphibian biologist Dr. Kerry Kriger, SAVE THE FROGS! is the world’s most effective amphibian conservation organization. We work in California, across the USA, and around the world to prevent the extinction of amphibians, and to create a better planet for humans and wildlife.
The mission of SAVE THE FROGS! is to protect amphibian populations and to promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. Our vision is a world in which not a single amphibian species is threatened with extinction. With your advice, your involvement and your financial support, we are 100% positive we can SAVE THE FROGS!
What We Do
SAVE THE FROGS! protects amphibian populations and empowers ordinary citizens to make extraordinary contributions to the betterment of the planet.
Since 2008, SAVE THE FROGS! staff and volunteers have held over 2,000 educational events in 57 countries to inspire, educate and empower people like you to protect and care for amphibians.
SAVE THE FROGS! has created, restored and protected habitat for threatened amphibian populations; spearheaded successful local, state and federal legislation on behalf of amphibians; and educated millions of people worldwide about amphibians.
SAVE THE FROGS! exists in order to make the world a better place for amphibians and humans.
Why Frogs Are Important And Worth Saving
Frog populations have been declining worldwide at unprecedented rates, and nearly one-third of the world’s amphibian species are threatened with extinction. Up to 200 species have completely disappeared since 1980, and this is NOT normal: amphibians naturally go extinct at a rate of only about one species every 500 years!
Amphibians provide an array of ecosystem services and knowledge of amphibians has led to numerous advances in human medicine. Plus frogs look and sound cool, and kids love them — so there are lots of reasons to save the frogs!

Legal Status & Organization
SAVE THE FROGS! is a USA-based nonprofit corporation and IRS-approved 501(c)(3) public charity.
SAVE THE FROGS! is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by our Executive Director, with assistance from our worldwide team of Volunteers.

Statement Of Purpose
In 2009, we wrote out specific objectives and purposes of SAVE THE FROGS!. These hold true today as much as ever, and serve as a means for determining which programs and activities we should focus on to most throughly accomplish our amphibious mission.

International Chapters
SAVE THE FROGS! provides advice and financial support to international chapters in a multitude of countries, including SAVE THE FROGS! India, which is an independent entity registered with the government of India.

SAVE THE FROGS! Grants & Scholarships
Since 2009, SAVE THE FROGS! has disbursed over $100,000 in grants, to conservationists in at least 16 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Estonia, Ghana, India, Liberia, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Paraguay, Tanzania and the USA.
SAVE THE FROGS! has also provided over $17,000 worth of scholarships to 120+ amphibian conservationists, to facilitate their environmental education goals.

The success of SAVE THE FROGS! depends on the hard work, dedication, and integrity of everyone in our community. SAVE THE FROGS! volunteers agree to work in good faith to help us achieve our mission. The SAVE THE FROGS! Code Of Conduct guides volunteers in their service to SAVE THE FROGS!.

The SAVE THE FROGS! Ecotours Code Of Conduct helps ensure that ecotour participants treat each other, the people we meet, and local nature and wildlife, with respect.
