Invite some local reporters to the event

Save The Frogs Day makes great publicity, so please inform your local journalists and invite them to your event.

Fundraise for SAVE THE FROGS!

SAVE THE FROGS! relies on support from the public: we receive no government grants and get by on a fraction of what the large nonprofits have to work with. Your financial support is crucial to our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts, so we hope your Save The Frogs Day event has some fundraising aspect in addition to the educational side of things. Fundraising ideally starts before your event. If your event costs money, feel free to fundraise to cover your event costs (we welcome anything you raise in excess of your event costs!). We strongly encourage all groups to set up their own personalized fundraising webpages for the frogs.
Here are a lot of fundraising tips!

Make a Save The Frogs Day flyer

Flyers help promote your event and look great on our website as well, so if you make one, please be sure to email us the jpeg and/or PDF so we can add it to our website. Flyers should ideally have the SAVE THE FROGS! logo and/or Save The Frogs Day icon, and a big URL that says billing.savethefrogs.com so people know where to learn more.

Spell our name correctly

Our organization’s name is SAVE THE FROGS! and we would love it if you spelled it, capitalized it, and punctuated it exactly like that. In other words, we are not SAVE the Frog or any other permutation of the words…so please just copy, paste and use this: SAVE THE FROGS!

Day Of The Event

Take photos!

Save The Frogs Day will come and go, but if you get one good photo of your event – one that captures the essence of the day – that photo will inspire generations of frog savers and donors as well. Thus your Save The Frogs Day event photos are almost as important as the event itself. Please email your best photos (no bad photos please) to photos@savethefrogs.com and be sure to include your country state and city in the subject line. Try to get a picture of your group holding up a Save The Frogs Day banner or with something that says Save The Frogs Day or SAVE THE FROGS!. We suggest that prior to your event you enlist a dedicated, talented photographer to take photos.

— PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #1: Group Photos
Make sure there is only a single camera taking a photo of your group at once, otherwise people’s eyes are looking different cameras and the photo is not as good as it could have been.

— PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #2: Smile
Don’t forget to smile! You can tell everyone to yell SAVE THE FROGS! on the count of three.

Collect donations

Please inform your audience that Save The Frogs Day is coordinated by SAVE THE FROGS!, a 501(c)(3) public charity for which all donations are tax-exempt to the fullest extent of the law. Please ask for donations. Checks can be made out to SAVE THE FROGS!. Our fundraising ideas page has lots of ideas on how you can raise more money this Save The Frogs Day. Please be sure to send your donations in to us by mid-May. Thank you and good luck!!!

Collect attendees’ email addresses, petition signatures

Please try to collect attendees email addresses so that we can add those people to our SAVE THE FROGS! electronic newsletter distribution list (from which they can unsubscribe at any time). A large mailing list is crucial to the success of our mission! You can print and distribute a mailing list signup sheet and a variety of flyers from our SAVE THE FROGS! Spread The Word page. There are a couple petitions as well you can print out and collect signatures for. Then you can send these to us and we’ll add them to the mailing list. If you have petitions out, no need for a separate mailing list signup, as we’ll add the signatories to our mailing list.

Count how many people pass through your event

SAVE THE FROGS! and our donors like to know how many people are educated by our programs, so after your event we will be asking you to tell us how many people attended your event. It is fine to estimate…and if you keep in mind that you should be counting, your estimate will likely be fairly accurate!

Have fun!

Relax, smile and a have a great time at you event!

After The Event

Submit your Save The Frogs Day photos

This is really important! Please send your best high resolution photos via email to photos@savethefrogs.com and please follow these instructions:

–Add your photos as attachments to an email. Do not exceed more than 10MB per email.

–Use your city, state and country as the subject line of the email.

–Help us with a caption: in the email body area, please include a compelling one-sentence description of your event and what is happening in the photo(s).

–If you have not yet done so, please give us a one or two paragraph event summary…not about what you planned to do, but anything worth mentioning about how it went.

–Include any photographer credits in the e-mail body/caption…but only if you want us to post on the site. It is easier for us to not do so, but we will upon request.

Please send us your event summary

When your event is over it would be great if you could send us a paragraph or two summarizing the event as well as your best photos…we will put these on the archival STF Day Events page to inspire people far into the future. We would also like to know how many people attended your event. Please collect any press clippings or URL’s of online articles about your event.

Promote your successes

Add your favorite photos to your social media. Thank your participants and volunteers. Share your Save The Frogs Day story on your website and with your local journalists.

Send us the donations you collected

We thank you in advance for collecting donations, your support makes this amazing day possible. Please send your donations to us by mid-May if possible so we can get a tally of funds raised worldwide. Our donation information page lists many ways to donate (e.g. online, phone, by mail).
