The 2023 SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest runs through November 1st, 2023 and is now accepting entries.
Winners of the 2022 contest have been announced!
Amphibian populations worldwide are in the midst of a mass extinction crisis, yet many people are completely unaware! We need your help in getting the word out: we encourage all nature lovers to seek out their inner frog artist and participate in the SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest! People of all ages, nationalities, and skill levels are encouraged to enter the contest, and we hope all schools will draw frog art on Save The Frogs Day!
The SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest invites you to create your coolest frog artwork. The contest raises awareness of the amphibian extinction problem by getting people involved and interested, and the artwork is used on t-shirts, stickers and posters, and in greeting cards and books, to both publicize our cause and raise money for SAVE THE FROGS! amphibian conservation efforts.

Who Can Enter
Anybody! People of all ages, nationalities, and skill levels are encouraged to enter the contest.
The SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest serves as an excellent method for getting students interested in both frogs and art, and gives them a productive and enjoyable diversion from their normal school activities, while educating them about frog extinctions. We encourage students and teachers to get their art classes involved on Save The Frogs Day. We encourage amateur and professional artists and graphic designers to take part as well. And the more countries represented the better!

The Contest Is Free To Enter
You heard that right: the SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest is FREE to enter.
We do encourage all contestants to donate to SAVE THE FROGS! as that helps us organize and promote this contest as well as our other frog-saving programs around the world.
To donate securely online, just click the image below. If you are mailing your art to us, you can include a check or postal order made payable to SAVE THE FROGS! in your envelope (cash is appreciated as well!).
Contest Rules
(1) The Contest runs through November 1st, 2023.
(2) Submitted artwork must be your original creation!
(3) No tracing of others’ artwork.
(4) You may submit up to three entries per person. Teachers can submit art on behalf of all their students.
(5) All artwork must refer to SAVE THE FROGS! by including, visibly and legibly:
EITHER
(a) the phrase SAVE THE FROGS! (capitalized, with an exclamation point!)
OR
(b) the phrase billing.savethefrogs.com (lowercase with NO exclamation point)
OR
c) both SAVE THE FROGS! and billing.savethefrogs.com (as in the logo below).
(6) Submission of artwork constitutes your agreement to the Art Contest Terms & Conditions. Please read these over, as they describe your rights to the submitted artwork as well as ours. Click here for the terms and conditions.
Things To Keep In Mind
– Your writing is art as well, so try to make the text artistic. Whatever text you put on your art, whether it be SAVE THE FROGS!, billing.savethefrogs.com or a line of poetry, make it look nice, not like a last minute, hurried addition.
– Please note that both SAVE THE FROGS! and billing.savethefrogs.com are PLURAL, meaning the letter “S” must appear at the end of the word FROGS. We are NOT SAVE THE FROG! and we are NOT savethefrog.com.
– Artwork may be hand-drawn or digitally produced.
– Hand-drawn art can be mailed in. If you don’t want to mail in your hand-drawn art, take a great photo of it or scan it and submit it digitally.
– Your art can feature frogs, toads, salamander, newts or caecilians.
– Your art can be full-color or black & white (for example, one-color frog outlines of the type used for a coloring book).

– The possibilities are endless. Use your artistic license and enjoy!

Suggestions For Frog Artists
Use your artistic license and do what you think is best, but bear in mind these suggestions:
– No glitter please — it’s messy!
– No religious content.
– Follow ALL the instructions on the entry page.
– Whitespace does not look very appealing. We suggest putting color on the entire piece.
– Do not put your frogs at the extreme edge of your art, as they may get chopped off during the scanning or printing process. Try to leave at least 0.25in (6.5mm) of “other art” such as leaves, grass, river etc…we would rather chop the river edge than the frog’s leg! The same goes for any writing on your art: don’t put it too near the edge.
– Mail-in entries can be any size you wish. We do though suggest that you stick with 8.5 x 11″ or A4 paper unless you truly have a reason to go larger. Big art is harder for us to deal with.
– Have fun!

2012 Art Show
On September 7th, 2012 we held our inaugural SAVE THE FROGS! Art Show at Art du Jour in downtown Santa Cruz, California. At this free event we displayed and auctioned off some of the greatest frog art ever created. Most of the art was submitted to us through the first three years of our SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest. Thanks to all who contributed art, volunteered, donated and otherwise helped out!

Save The Frogs Day Art
Are you a teacher? Frog art is a great classroom activity for Save The Frogs Day.
If possible, please also have your class make a large banner that says either SAVE THE FROGS!, Save The Frogs Day, or billing.savethefrogs.com (or a combination thereof). Take a photo of your class holding the banner, and email it to us. Then hang the banner in school as a permanent reminder of Save The Frogs Day, and as a call to action for all the school’s students.
