SAVE THE FROGS! Bangladesh Executive Director Nurul Islam was recently awarded an equipment support grants from Idea Wild. To assist his SAVE THE FROGS! efforts in Bangladesh, Nurul received a digital camera, a projector and two headlamps. The projector will be used to give education presentations for school children, while the camera and headlight will be used for field expeditions. The projector will also be used at our 5th Annual Save The Frogs Day event. Thanks to Idea Wild for supporting our amphibian conservation efforts in Bangladesh.
Nurul also recently won an International Youth Award from the School Broadcasting Network, in recognition of the excellent amphibian conservation and community awareness projects he is implementing with SAVE THE FROGS!. Nominees were judged on the following criteria: Leadership; Innovation; Initiative; Caring for Community; Outcomes and/or Potential Future Outcomes; Resilience and Solutions. The eight judges considered his demonstration of initiative, leadership, and innovation in successfully initiating amphibian awareness campaigns in a country where there is very little recognition of the important role of amphibians within the eco-system to be highly commendable. Congratulations Nurul!
