Endemic Frogs in Mindanao, Philippines

The Philippines is the world’s second largest archipelago and one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. Mindanao is the second largest island in the Philippines and holds a large number of endemic species. It is considered to be the epicenter of southern Philippine biodiversity. Northeastern Mindanao is home to numerous species that thrive on both mainland Mindanao and the Eastern Visayas. In this poster, we get to know some of the endemic frog species that can only be found in the Philippines and in Mindanao as well.

About The Instructor

This lesson was created by SAVE THE FROGS! Scholarship Recipient Andrie Bon Flores, an early-career conservation biologist and ecologist. Andrie studies the life history of the Philippine endemic frogs and its relation to the frogs’ external environment. He is currently taking his Masters of Science in Biology at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Scholarship in the Philippines.
